As it's all the rage now I've set up a twitter page for MS so if you have a Twitter account you can follow the more important topics on there and the pop on here to take part!

It's also useful if the site is ever down or experiencing technical issues as I'll keep everyone up to date there.

It's like a more prompt version of facebook where you say what you are doing in under 160 characters at the time.

It's extremely popular, no idea why at the moment as I must admit I've only started using it but I'm reliably informed from friends that it is great as a 'no fuss' way of finding out what your friends, websites or famous people you like are doing.

For example the great Stephen Fry 'Twits' here: Stephen Fry (stephenfry) on Twitter

You make an account and 'follow' him and you can read what he is up to ETC.

Are people that sad that they have to know what someone is doing every minute of the day Well I joined but I don't think I will be very active on there, well not unless the kids join then I can keep up with what they are doing

They're sad enough to live on Facebook all day so I guess Twitter is in fact not that different IMO.

I think a lot of Twitters success is to do with mobile apps, so you can update it on your phone just like sms really but you just send it to the one location and others go look instead of sending it to 4894894 people!

You don't have to join unless you know what it's all about!

For you it's no use as you are a regular here, the only use you'll make of it is if the site is down and looking as an update will be added!
