Costa Esuri - Ayamonte!

Hi Guys,

I’m hoping that a lot of you will remember me as Sam Parky from the infamous Costa Esuri thread on another expat forum!

I started that thread back in May 2004 and had many happy years posting on there. Then as many of you know I closed it a few months ago because of all the bickering, hijacking and doom mongers!!

A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by Myspain and asked to be a moderator on this fantastic new forum and thought “yeah…..why not!” So here I am starting up another Costa Esuri thread for all us people who live and have holiday homes here! But, and this is a big “BUT” this is going to be a thread with a difference!! Why I can hear you all ask? Because I am a moderator and there will be no hijacking and funny business going on here lol!!!

So come on guys……..lets get together, have a laugh, hear all the gossip, share photos, help each other out and enjoy Costa Esuri on Myspain!!

Sam would you say the location would be good for to settle in for business?

It's obviously close to Portugal (big advantage) and how far a drive from Marbella would you say it is?

I would have to know more about your business before I could tell you more about that part.

Its the most beautiful location and you have the best parts of Spain and Portugal here, so we are very lucky! Its about a 3 hour drive from Marbella.......I havent done it myself so could be wrong, hopefully someone will be able to tell you more!

Some important information for all RVA 4 townhouse owners...........

Rates are now overdue on manzanas 1,2 and 3. You should have a bill from the council in your letter box with the amount due and the fine cost. Dont panic, the fine isnt hudreds of euros!!

Manzanas 4, 5 and 6 are due in July. You wont get a bill, you will need to go directly to the townhall office and pay it.

We import/export vehicles (anything from cars to boats) and do most of our work in Spain and Portugal so seeing the location is ideal for Portugal can anyone else confirm how long it takes to to drive to Marbella?

Hi, dave from number 30 at M6. nice one sam, hope we can get some positives here. I would like to see posts from people recommending things particularly restaurants, places to see, etc.
Does anyone know the cheapest way of getting just the usual terrestrial channels. I have a spare sky plus box and i was under the impression that there were big sky dishes in each manzana.

You will either need to put your own dish up (which isn't very popular with some people on the Manzana) or share someone else's nearby and run the cable from that into your house. If one of your neighbours has a dish, it's probably worth asking them if you can put in a bigger LNB and run cable from that. It would also be a good idea to offer to make contribution to the cost of originally installing their dish, which is around 300Euros.

We used Carlos for ours, he lives in the Manzana behind us so is nice and local. He's very efficient and helpful in terms of hiding cables etc and even fixed our sticking gate lock for good measure.

It's approx four hours and 400Km according to Google Maps. The route suggests that you go via the coast towards Gib and then on towards Jerez before you get to the Seville ring road. Then it's pretty direct to Costa Esuri/Aymonte.

Carlos and his wife own a bar in Ayamonte that do the most fantastic Portuguese tapas. Its on the street where all the night clubs are and at the moment it is called Burguer bar and has a yellow sign above the door. They are changing the name soon to Isabellas (I think thats the name). It really is a must to try and at great prices, lovely owners you cant go wrong!
